A small gelato shop across the street from Lehua Night Market in Yonghe. The gelato, the cones, the cheese cream and the pistachio spread are all made here.

Our story

Chii! is a small gelato shop in Yonghe. We believe good gelato doesn't need much dressing up, just good ingredients and careful work, every day.

Our gelato is made daily with milk, cream and seasonal fruit. Cones are baked only after you order, so they reach you perfectly crisp, and our pistachio spread is slow-ground at low temperature from American pistachios. Whatever we can make by hand, we make ourselves.

Our flavors shift with the seasons and with each day's inspiration. On any given day you might find a fruit at its very best, or a flavor making its first appearance. Every visit is a little different.

We hope every bite brings a quiet smile, just like the moment you say "Chii!"

Why "Chii!"?

"Chii!" is that first easy bite of gelato. It's the smell of rich cheese. And when you say it out loud, you can't help smiling a little.

We hope our gelato makes you smile for real and feel at home. Our flavors follow what's in season and how we feel that day. To everyone who keeps coming back: thank you. We'll keep answering with a new day's gelato.

Gelato that follows the seasons

There are 5 to 7 flavors each day. Our classics use milk, cream and real ingredients; the seasonal ones follow whatever fruit is in season, so no two days are quite the same.

Cones baked to order

We make our own caramel butter cones and bake each one when you order, so it takes a minute and stays crisp.

Cheese cream

Rich and cheesy, spooned right over your gelato. Say "Chii!" and it sounds like "cheese," which is part of how we got our name.

Our own pistachio spread

Made from 100% American pistachios, slow-ground at low temperature with no sugar or additives. It's what goes into our pistachio gelato.

Come say hi

We're right across from Lehua Night Market. There are only a few seats, so most people take their gelato to go and eat it while walking the market. Pets are welcome too.
